Iftar under the stars, organised by UK Muslim Scout Fellowship and hosted by three groups in the London area, 11th St. Marylebone, 8th Goodmayes and 7th Goodmayes held at Scout HQ at Gillwell Park on Saturday 27th June. Many families from all over London gathered in an evening of fun activities, spiritual remembrance prayers and food. It was a relaxed evening with families enjoying the beautiful weather and splendid location. Children and adults enjoyed the many activities ranging from treasure hunt to archery. All enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and many stayed late into the evening to perform tarawee preyers. Explorer scouts were invited to spend the night in further remembrance and team building exercises.
7th Goodmayes Scouts hosted a fantastic evening to celebrate the end of their Scouting year 2015. All Sections headed to Gilwell Park, to take part in a range of activities, including Grass Sledging, Wall Climbing, Crate Stacking, Zip Wire and 3G Swing. The Scouts had a fantastic time. We ended the evening with an Award Ceremony to recognise achievements by individuals and the Group as a whole. Before parting, we had a reminder of the blessing of Ramadhan and finished with Maghrib Salah.
Girl Scouts and Explorers had a fantastic time at our ‘Survival Skill’ themed camp. They learnt the skills of firelighting, shelterbuilding and geocaching. They cooked their own meals over an open fire. They had a great evening of entertainment, reminders and naseeha around an evening campfire with smores and hot chocolate! They learnt lots about the art of Friendship and fun! Most importantly, the Girls were taught about our most important survival skill of all – Salah – with a reminder of how it would help them reach their ultimate purpose in life – to become closer to Allah and reach Jannah.
Our Boy Scout and Explorer Section attended the the MSF ‘Global Islam’ Camp on the weekend 1-4 May 2015. They had the chance to discover the beauty and variety of art, architecture, language and customs that Muslim countries have to offer and share in this once in a lifetime cultural exchange opportunity. Travel to the lands where Islam has been practiced for many generations and learn where cultural traditions developed. During the three day camp they had the chance to take part in workshops and Scouting activities and have fun and meet with Muslim Scouts from around the UK and Europe.

The Night Hike is part of the Inter Troop Trophy Challenge so we should be in a good position to win the Trophy if we are able to keep up the efforts as we did last year!
