7G GREEN CAMP 2014!

7th Goodmayes had all Section Camp in the Summer of 2014 with the theme ‘Green Camp’. Emphasis was made on following the Prophetic (SAW) Tradition of living in harmony with nature and environment. Scouts were taught how to respect their surroundings, learn basic skills such as tying knots and creating pioneering projects using tools available. Scouts had to wash and reuse their own utensils and plates (no plastics allowed!) and despite pouring rain they had a fabulous time in true Scouting Spirit!

Beavers went on hikes, did pond dipping and baked bread. Cubs tried their hand at tying knots, kayaking, wall climbing. Scouts did some fantastic pioneering – making a shoe rack and clothes dryer as well as taking part in outdoor activities such as Cresta run. The Campfire was a great success and everybody pitched in to help put up tents and keep the camp area clean and tidy.
