> Back to TopThis page is about the fantastic leaders we have who help us, and our parents who we need to make scouts a better place to be. Also about the volunteers and what to do if you would like to take part in having fun and helping the scouts.
The leaders help us and support us in everything that we do. They are there to make sure that we are happy and safe and that we are having a good time. They encourage us to always do good and to try our best at all times, to respect others around us and the enviroment that we live in. They help us to become better people and to do a lot of things towards our religion.
The leaders come to all the scout meetings and take part in the activities that we do.
They tell us important things that will help us like recycling and also keep us safe. They take scouts to different and interesting places like the raft building. The leaders encourage the scouts to do things eg. to keep a chart for how many times the scouts pray. The leaders also tell them stories and knowlegable points about the world. We would like to thank Allah for the great scout leaders we have and for allowing us to have a place like scouts.
What do the parents do? for all the parents out there! Parents are here to support and encourage everyone, they help us by working hard to pay for those awesome trips and other great activities the scouts do. The parents also volunteer their free time to come and join the scouts at the exciting trips they go to. They provide the packed lunches for the scouts when they go on days out and also pay for the other expenses, we would like to thank Allah for our parents who help make scouts a better place
Volunteers are similar to leaders, however you don't need to be qualified in being a leader, that may include someone like you.
Why don't you come along with the scouts to see what they get up to and take part in the most amazing day trips out, things that you won't normally do, or just simply see what the scouts get up to. From camping in the Arctic to the heat of the jungle in Colchester Zoo, and what about serious horse riding?
The scouts also go to places with politics involved, such as the House of Lords? Not only do you have a lot of fun and try something new, but you also get reward in doing so. If you would like to come on some of the magnificent outings with the scouts then just contact one of the leaders and you could be on your way to having fun!
Becoming a Scout Leader is easy ? you need to fill out the AA (Adult Application) form and a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) form. You can get both of these from any of our scout leaders.
As a scout leader we ask you to get involved in planning and running the Friday night sessions with our scouts. You?ll be attached to one of our four sections (i.e. Beavers, Cubs or Scouts boys or girls). You?ll also help to plan and run trips and camps, etc. We will give you all of the support and encouragement that you need to feel comfortable in doing this. We also provide you with lots of training, such as first aid, climbing, archery, etc.
If you?re interested in becoming a Scout Leader, please contact us for more information.
If you don?t feel like you have enough time to become a Leader, you might consider being a regular Helper. This means that we can rely on you to help at our Friday night sessions and for trips, but you don?t need to take responsibility for planning and preparing these. This might suit some people better than being a Leader.
To become a Helper, please contact any of our Scout Leaders. They?ll give you a CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) form to complete, which is needed for anyone working with children.
If you're interested in becoming a Helper, please contact us for more information.
